Barely open a year, Malibu Brewing Company operates as a taproom and restaurant. There’s charm in every corner plus killer views with indoor and outdoor seating on a dog-friendly patio. Try one of the 20 beers on tap with wings, nachos, flatbreads, charcuterie boards, or the beer-braised short ribs over mac and cheese. Philadelphia Brewery opened in 1875 and closed in 1882 it was open for 7 years. This brewery was open for quite a few years so it is easier to find items and advertising than some breweries that did not last long, this can make the Breweriana items less valuable. As a Pre-Prohibition Brewery, any advertising items or collectibles are likely to be valuable and desirable to collectors as they tend to be hard to find.
AleSmith Brewing Company

California's oldest active brewery is Anchor Brewing, which was established in San Francisco, CA in 1896. Almost instantly, Monkish Brewing was an international NEIPA brewing superstar. Collaborating with some of the best breweries on the East Coast, Monkish seemingly couldn’t brew enough IPA to meet demand. Navy warehouse built during World War II, and the space is simultaneously cavernous and stunning. Attention to detail across their limited range of styles has made Three Weavers a much-loved option for local drinkers. From balanced IPAs, to clean and refreshing beers like Seafarer Kolsch-style ale, every beer is precise and consistent. Beachwood focuses on American styles and proudly serves a selection of over 30 taps from their Long Beach taproom and BBQ restaurant. Their IPAs are top-notch but don’t sleep on their refreshing and crisp lagers, like the Hayabusa Japanese rice lager. Another brewery that started with a Belgian focus and since expanded its range, Brouwerij West has grown into one of L.A.’s most popular breweries.
Since then, they've conceived a host of explosively creative concoctions to pay homage to both 19th century California lager and their respective Filipino and Japanese roots. The Ube Wan IPA is brewed with strong ube and coconut flavors, while the Yoi Yoi, a Japanese rice lager, carries hints of Japanese "Ume" Plums and premium Koshihikari Sushi Rice. And be sure to try the Jewel City Common, a malty amber that won first place in the 2019 California Commercial Beer Competition. Progress Brewing is a big deal for El Monte, the bedroom community east of Downtown Los Angeles. Crisp classics and unique newcomers (try the Sandia Loca, a blonde ale with watermelon and chamoy) play nicely here. Though many know Montebello’s shipping container food hall for the food, there’s a handy tasting room tucked away in the back.

Start with an $8 pint of the citrus and floral Bullitt IPA, then play a few rounds of Skee-Ball and stop by on-site Chica’s Tacos to get your taco and nacho fix.
